Every therapist works in their own way, and finding the right fit is an important part of the process. Some aspects of my practice that clients often value include:
Training
I trained beyond the usual diploma level, graduating with a First Class degree in Integrative Counselling. I am committed to ongoing professional development and continually expanding my knowledge and skills to ensure I provide the highest standard of care.
I am currently undertaking Gottman Level 1 and Level 2 Clinical Training in Couples and Relationship Counselling, alongside Advanced Specialist Level 5 training in Counselling Children and Young People.
This ongoing development will enable Wellstone Therapy to expand its services and offer support to a wider range of clients, with Couples and Relationship Counselling planned for Autumn 2026 and Counselling for Children and Young People (ages 9–17) planned for Spring 2027.
Experience
In 2017, I co-founded and directed Kairos Counselling and Psychotherapy, a successful city-centre counselling practice in Exeter. Alongside providing therapy to a diverse range of clients, I helped develop and manage the service, supporting its growth into a busy and well-established practice.
This experience provided valuable insight into both the clinical and practical aspects of delivering high-quality counselling services and continues to inform the professional, thoughtful, and client-centred approach I bring to my work today.
Time
Rather than the traditional 45–50 minute therapeutic hour, I offer full 60- and 90-minute sessions, giving you the full time booked to use in your session.
Collaboration
My work is grounded in the power of the therapeutic relationship and in creating a space that feels genuine, collaborative, and thoughtful. Therapy is not something done to you, but something we work through together.
Regular Reviews
To help ensure therapy remains focused on your needs and goals, I include a review session every six sessions. This provides an opportunity to reflect on progress, discuss how therapy is feeling for you, and consider any adjustments that may be helpful.
Particular Interests
Alongside my work with individuals, I have a particular interest in relationships and family dynamics, including adult children of narcissistic parents, parents of multiples, parents of children with additional needs, and clients navigating the impact of disability and chronic illness, including Long COVID.

Collaborative, honest, and warm.
I believe therapy works best when it feels genuine and safe. My approach is warm and professional, creating a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgement.
Therapy is not something that is done to you; it is a process we work through together. We will explore what is important to you, develop a shared understanding of your experiences, and work at a pace that feels appropriate for you.
I aim to create a space where you can be open and honest, while also offering thoughtful challenge and support when it may help you move towards meaningful change.
Every person’s reasons for seeking therapy are different, so our work together will be tailored to your individual needs, goals, and circumstances.

At Wellstone Therapy, I offer full 60-minute and 90-minute counselling sessions, available both online and in person.
Many therapists use a traditional 45–50 minute therapeutic hour; however, I believe having the full time you have booked allows more space to explore what is important to you, without sessions feeling rushed.
Longer sessions can provide additional time for reflection, deeper exploration, and meaningful therapeutic work, while still allowing therapy to be paced around your individual needs.

Yes. Online counselling appointments are available across the UK using a specialist practice management system with an integrated secure telehealth platform.
I do not use general video conferencing platforms such as Zoom for therapy sessions, as I have chosen to use a specialist practice management system with an integrated secure telehealth platform designed for healthcare professionals. This supports the confidentiality, privacy, and professional requirements of counselling services.
Online therapy offers a flexible way to access counselling from a location that feels comfortable and convenient for you, while maintaining the same professional and confidential approach as in-person sessions.

Therapy can be a gradual process, and progress can look different for everyone. Sometimes changes may feel obvious, while at other times they may be more subtle, such as developing greater self-awareness, understanding your experiences differently, feeling better able to manage challenges, or noticing changes in your thoughts, feelings, relationships, or daily life.
At Wellstone Therapy, I believe it is important that therapy remains focused on your needs and goals. As part of our work together, we set aside time every six sessions to reflect on how therapy is progressing, revisit the goals you identified at the beginning of counselling, discuss how therapy is feeling for you, and consider whether any adjustments may help support our work together.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and your thoughts and feedback are an important part of ensuring that counselling continues to meet your needs and support your goals.
